Accenture Forward Deployed Engineer: what the postings ask for
Published
Accenture posts Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) roles on its consulting career ladder, from Consultant and Specialist up to Manager, Senior Manager and Associate Director. In FDE Dispatch's October 24, 2026 snapshot of public job boards, Accenture accounts for 40 of 725 FDE-family postings (5.5%), fourth by count: 28 engineer-family and 12 management. That 30.0% management share is the highest of any employer with 10 or more postings, against 9.8% across all 725. 9 Accenture titles name cybersecurity, and no other employer's FDE titles do. 31 of the 40 list no US office. All 12 postings that state a travel percentage say "0 to 100%", a boilerplate range, so this page reports no travel median. US postings list pay ranges between $70,350 and $434,000; posted ranges are not offers. FDE Dispatch is not affiliated with Accenture; the figures come from Accenture's public job postings.
What Accenture calls the role
Accenture puts its consulting career levels on Forward Deployed Engineer titles: a Cybersecurity FDE Consultant, a Forward Deployed Engineer Manager, an AI Engineer FDE Software Engineering Sr. Manager. 28 of its 40 FDE-family postings are engineer-family and 12 are management titles. It posts no deployment strategist titles in this snapshot.
| Level named in title | Postings |
|---|---|
| Manager | 6 |
| Senior Manager (incl. Sr. Manager) | 4 |
| Associate Manager | 1 |
| Associate Director | 1 |
| Senior | 5 |
| Consultant | 3 |
| Lead | 1 |
| Specialist | 1 |
| No level named | 18 |
The four manager-track levels add up to the 12 management postings. No title says new grad or intern; Consultant (3 postings) and Specialist (1) are the lowest levels these titles name.
Management titles make up 30.0% of Accenture's FDE postings, the highest share of any employer with 10 or more postings. Across all 725 postings the share is 9.8%, and Accenture holds 12 of the 71 FDE management postings (16.9%).
| Employer | Postings | Management titles |
|---|---|---|
| Accenture | 40 | 12 (30.0%) |
| Databricks | 122 | 25 (20.5%) |
| Cursor | 10 | 2 (20.0%) |
| Cohere | 11 | 2 (18.2%) |
| OpenAI | 32 | 3 (9.4%) |
| Cloudflare | 11 | 1 (9.1%) |
| All 121 employers | 725 | 71 (9.8%) |
Two title groups set Accenture apart. 9 titles name cybersecurity: 3 CyberCX Secure AI engineer roles in Sydney and Melbourne, Consultant, Manager and Senior Manager roles in Prague, and 3 US roles (Atlanta, Morristown and Austin). No other employer's FDE titles contain the word. 4 titles name another company's platform: Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer, Senior Engineer and Associate Director roles in Chicago, and an AWS FDE presales role in Singapore. Palantir's own postings are on Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer.
Short definitions are in the FDE glossary, and interview-round prep is on the FDE interview loop and the practice questions.
Where the roles are
9 of Accenture's 40 FDE-family postings are US-located and 31 (77.5%) list no US office. The published locations index classifies 24 of the 31 as outside the US (60.0%) and leaves 7 unclassified, each naming only non-US cities: Shanghai, Gurugram, Newcastle, Rome (2) and Toronto (2). Across all 725 postings, 40.1% are outside the US on the index.
| Country (first listed location) | Postings |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 6 |
| Australia | 4 |
| Czech Republic | 3 |
| Spain | 3 |
| Canada | 2 |
| India | 2 |
| Italy | 2 |
| Singapore | 2 |
| 7 more, 1 each (China, Newcastle (country not stated), France, Philippines, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany) | 7 |
The Newcastle posting names the city only, so the table lists it without a country. The US postings work differently: each of the 9 lists 42 to 45 US offices, from Atlanta and Chicago to San Diego and Seattle. No other employer's US-located posting lists more than 32 locations, and the median across all US-located postings is 2.
| Employer | Postings | Outside the US |
|---|---|---|
| Salesforce | 50 | 42 (84.0%) |
| Accenture | 40 | 24 (60.0%) |
| OpenAI | 32 | 16 (50.0%) |
| Databricks | 122 | 44 (36.1%) |
| Palantir | 105 | 29 (27.6%) |

How much Accenture Forward Deployed roles travel
Travel appears in 14 of 40 Accenture postings (35.0%), and 12 state a percentage. All 12 say "0 to 100%": the 9 US-located postings and the 3 Prague cybersecurity postings. No other employer in the snapshot uses that wording.
"0 to 100%" covers any amount of travel, so this page reports no median upper bound for Accenture; a median of 100% would only restate the boilerplate. The all-employer page, how much forward deployed engineers travel, leaves the same 12 rows out of its band table and reports a 30% median stated upper bound across employers. On an Accenture FDE seat, ask the recruiter how many days a week the team spends at the client site.
Office, hybrid or remote
Accenture's workplace field is blank on 31 of its 40 FDE-family postings. Of the rest, 7 say Hybrid, 1 Remote and 1 On-Site, which sums to 40. The 7 Hybrid postings include all 3 Palantir roles in Chicago and the Paris posting. 1 posting lists a remote location on the locations index, the CyberCX Senior Engineer (FDE) role based in Melbourne; across the full snapshot, 199 of 725 postings (27.4%) do.
What Accenture posts for pay
9 US-located Accenture postings list a USD range. The table shows the first range on each posting. Posted ranges are not offers, and the all-employer US engineer median midpoint on Forward Deployed Engineer salary is $216,104.
| Role family | US postings with USD pay | Posted ranges, first on posting (count) |
|---|---|---|
| Engineer | 4 | $70,350 to $235,100 (2); $70,350 to $205,800 (1); $94,400 to $316,300 (1) |
| Management | 5 | $94,400 to $316,300 (2); $132,500 to $302,400 (1); $132,500 to $366,300 (1); $163,000 to $434,000 (1) |
Accenture's bands are wide. The median Accenture range tops out at 3.34 times its floor, against 1.38 across all 324 US-located postings with a USD range. 5 of Accenture's 9 ranges reach 3 times their floor or more; the only other employer with any is Salesforce (4). Ask where your level and office sit inside the band.
The 2 Toronto postings list only Canadian offices, and the snapshot records their ranges as USD ($100,300 to $216,700 and $142,050 to $292,000); they are left out of the US table. The other 29 postings with no US office list no pay, and none of the 40 mention equity.
Method and data
Population: 40 Accenture postings with in_page_stats among the 725 FDE-family postings from 121 employers counted on the salary, job titles, locations and travel pages. All 40 come from Accenture's public Workday careers site; snapshot pulled October 24, 2026. Recruiting agencies and duplicates removed.
Level, cybersecurity and platform: keyword match on the posting title. Level is the first match in order Associate Director, Senior Manager, Associate Manager, Manager, Lead, Senior, Consultant, Specialist. US-located and remote-listed use the published locations-index definitions: a posting is US-located when every listed location is in the US, and remote-listed when any listed location contains Remote. Listed-location counts are the entries in the index's location list. Country uses the first listed location.
Travel: stated percentage strings as posted; the "0 to 100%" rows are reported as a count with no median. US pay: US-only location, USD range posted, first range on the posting; band width is the top of the range divided by the floor. These 40 listings were live on the October 24, 2026 snapshot; counts are open postings on one day.
