FDE Dispatch job-posting data: Forward Deployed Engineer datasets and methodology

This page is the canonical list of FDE Dispatch datasets built from live Forward Deployed Engineer postings on public Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday boards. Snapshots are dated October 24 and October 25, 2026: 725 postings from 121 employers on October 24; 563 engineer-family postings from 115 employers on October 25; and 86 deployment strategist postings at 16 employers in the October 24 cut. Each row below links to the guide that explains the figures and to the downloadable files.

Methodology
Collection: public job-board APIs for Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby (260 board names probed), plus keyword search on 16 Workday career sites. FDE Dispatch checked 276 employers and found 206 with a live public board and 121 with at least one matching posting.
Title rule: a posting counts when its title contains forward deployed (any spelling), FDE, deployment strategist, deployed engineer, deployed software/AI/ML engineer, or AI deployment engineer. Role families in the postings file are engineer, deployment_strategist, management, or adjacent_non_engineering. In-page stats use engineer, deployment strategist and management rows (725 of 778). Cleaning removed 9 recruiting-agency postings for an unnamed client and 43 duplicate listings of the same employer, title and location set.
Title families on the guides: of the 725 postings, 568 use an engineer title, 86 use a deployment strategist title and 71 use an FDE management or program title. The skills and experience indexes start from engineer-title postings in the October 24 snapshot with internships excluded (565), re-fetch posting text on October 25, 2026, and keep 563 postings from 115 employers after 2 postings had closed. The travel index uses the same 725 postings as salary, titles and locations. The deployment strategist index is the 86 postings with role_family = deployment_strategist among those 725.
Known limits, as stated on the READMEs and guide method sections: matching is by title only; employers that post only on LinkedIn, Indeed or other applicant systems are missing; posted ranges are not offers and exclude equity value; a mention is not a hard requirement; keyword matching is approximate; counts are open postings on one pull date, not headcount; postings close, so check the URL before relying on a row. One snapshot per file, no history yet.
Reuse: the postings, skills, experience and travel READMEs state that the files are free to reuse with credit to FDE Dispatch and a link to the matching guide page. The locations and deployment strategist READMEs do not state a license.

A posting counts when its title contains forward deployed (any spelling), FDE, deployment strategist, deployed engineer, deployed software/AI/ML engineer, or AI deployment engineer. Page totals use engineer, deployment strategist and FDE management titles. Adjacent non-engineering titles stay in the postings file with a flag and are left out of those totals. The skills and experience indexes use engineer-family postings only, with internships excluded.
Can I reuse or cite the FDE datasets?
Yes. Where a dataset README states reuse terms, the files are free to reuse with credit to FDE Dispatch and a link to the matching guide page.
